celeb street style, part 1: Kate Hudson in fringe wedge Uggs, bright red skinny jeans, thick beige sweater over a white top, and red sunglasses. I don’t follow Kate Hudson’s style because I don’t think she has any. BUT when I saw this picture I was impressed. It’s hipstery without trying to be and it breaks out of the usual black, white, grey rut that is attributed to rocker chic/hipster style. It might be time to invest in some red skinny jeans.
Camilla Belle in Gucci at the LACMA Art+Film Gala. The long golden fringe gives the dress a jazz feel and the sharp geometric inspired pattern is reminiscent of the 80s. Great collaboration of styles from two distinct periods, all in one dress. And of course Camilla pulls it off effortlessly, with light make-up and unfussy hair.

Kate Winslet wearing Stella McCartney at the 2011 Venice Film Festival promoting Mildred Pierce. One of the best dresses I’ve seen this year. It would never look good on a pin thin model. It’s designed to emphasis curves. The color palette changes to create a visually flattering design that creates an hourglass figure.
Iris Van Herpen’s debut, Capriole, Fall-Winter 2011-12, Paris
I think we may have a new McQueen.
one of my fashion icons: Angelina Jolie on always wearing black: ‘I like to get up so every pair of pants goes with every top, every dress goes with every shoe. *I’ve a very tiny closet.* Brad’s always laughing at me.’
Kate Moss and Sienna Miller (my other fashion icons) are similar in that their outfit foundation is simple. Jolie sticks to a color whereas Moss and Miller stick to a formula: skinny jeans, black or white t-shirt, embellished flats or boots. Simplicity in fashion is overlooked….it shouldn’t be. The excessive gaudy outfits of cultural phenomenon Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City were great…but she was fictional, as was her income, and closet space. The reality version of her is Kim Kardashian yet she can barely string 2 intelligent sentences together. Excess, like being high maintenance, is unattractive.
Fergie leaving her hotel in Germany. I like the foundation of the outfit. The jean shorts, the sheer button down, the necklace are all awesome. But the below the knee boots and huge leather bag overwhelm the look. Too much is going on. She should’ve opted for ankle length boots and a much smaller bag.

Kate Moss and Jamie Hince after their wedding rehearsal. LOVE her dress. Want to get ahead of the current maxi dresses trend, start wearing long flow-y hippie dresses.
